Young Jackdaw Pictures
I have a fondness for birds hence the photo of a Shag on my blogpage. I also own two mallard and a crow plastic decoys. Among the birds that feed in our garden are the inevitable magpies but also crows and the very occasional blue jay. But we've never had jackdaws which is why I was delighted by the post on Aileni's blog known as loose ends. And of course Donegal is where my Grandfather was born so all photos of the area are special to me.

Cyanocitta cristata Blue Jay, from the US ?, or our own Garrulus glandarius Jay ?
My great uncle used to keep jackdaws that could speak as well as any parrot, they however spoke in a rich Wiltshire dialect.
The blue barred feather from the jay was the traditional decoration in the hat-band of a trilby in this part of the country.
The Warwickshire Jay, naturally. I prefixed it with blue because the contrast of Coventry blue against sandy beige stood out in my mind's eye.
Apologies if I inadvertantly prompted a twitching frenzy amongst the birding community due to my error.
I like watching birds too.
Thanks for the mention Galli. You keep late hours or early ? I've been awake since 0400 - the daughters are coming today and the family will be complete for the first time in years.
I turn the PC on when I can't sleep and blog etc whenever. Glad to hear of the reunion - family noise is the best sound in the world.
